Liquid resin refurbishment for the aircraft manufacturer
The administrative and operational buildings of the AIRBUS factory site in Hamburg-Finkenwerder are mainly accessed through a 6.30 m wide and around 450 m long trough and tunnel structure that passes under the runway. This 2,850 m² area had to be rehabilitated in such a way that the main operational access road could be used again as quickly as possible and without major closure periods. The decision was made in favor of PMMA products from WestWood®. The waterproofing was carried out with a Vedag VEDAPONT BE polymer bitumen waterproofing membrane which, in combination with the PMMA primer Wecryl 123 / Wecryl 123 K, represents a tested system according to TL/TP-BEL-B, Part 1. Due to the fast response times, the PMMA system build-up with primer, waterproofing, concrete repair and roll coating could be realized in only one week.
