Heated ramp
Open space heating in PMMA thin bed
Object: Ramp to the underground car park of an apartment building, in Gütersloh
Extent: Ramp, total area approx. 80 m²
Substrate: concrete
Period: 3 days in July 2013
Used: WestWood® System - ramp heating: (WestWood® Weproof structural waterproofing system (fleece-free), open-air heating system, Wecryl 847 adhesive and reinforcing mortar, Wecryl 410 structural coating).
Efficient in installation & operation
Two important reasons spoke for the decision to replace the defective ramp heating system with a "heating system in PMMA thin bed". 1. The time-consuming and expensive demolition was saved. The approved Weproof system could be applied directly to the concrete. 2. the new variant convinced with minimal operating costs. The direct-acting heating system thawed ice and snow more quickly. Thus, the ramp was permanently protected against moisture and chloride ingress and is safe to walk and drive on even in winter.
