Waterproofing for the world's oldest cable car
The world's oldest large cable car in its original condition, which went into operation on July 1, 1928, is also affectionately known as the "Grande Dame of the Alps". It is the only one to have been protected as a technical monument since 2006. The largest 32-meter-high concrete column received an approved, fleece-reinforced liquid waterproofing in July 2015. From above, the column head is trough-shaped with steps. The vertical surfaces had to be made slip-resistant for maintenance purposes.
